Rob Jon is a song writer, musician, singer, producer and an entrepreneur. He is one of the the lead singers in 5BGP Funk. Although he carries an MBA in his back pocket, music and the entertainment industry are the love of his life. 

He comes from a family of musicians and singers and was destined to fall in love with music and entertainment at an early age. Mastering the piano at the age of 13, he sang and played in the choir both at church and at school and eventually started singing lead vocals and playing keyboards in local bands. 

He has worked with artists such as Paula Abdul, Color Me Bad, Sandra Bernhard, as well as producers and song writers, Elliot Wolf, Stacy Piersa, Jon Lundy and Greg Ware in addition to singing jingles for commercials and handling back ground vocals for countless other artists.

Rob acquired most of his musical skills while working at an early age on stage productions for local community theater in Los Angeles and Pasadena and while working as a studio musician and studio singer on the L.A. set. He has toured the world entertaining countless audiences and teamed up with life-long friends and producer/songwriters Greg Ware and Jon Lundy to produce his CD entitled "Soulmate."  Keep an eye out for Rob's 2017 release, coming soon...

Rob’s musical influence moves from gospel, to jazz, to hip hop, to R&B, funk, classical, rock, big band and even Broadway. Rob’s all-time favorite artists include a diverse mix of entertainers and artists such as Maxwell, Usher, Michael Jackson, Prince, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, Sly Stone, James Brown, Beyonce, Jay-Z, Snoop, E40, the Beatles, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix, and other artists who are not as well known, like his family and friends.

Robert Jon says music is the love of his life. "Making music, listening and watching others play music, living in a world filled with music and lyrics is as important to me as the air I breathe. I would suffocate without it."
